Rules for reviews and anything you publish through Billy.

The short version

Be honest. Be specific. Don’t attack people. Don’t manipulate ratings. Don’t post things you wouldn’t want a real human to read. If you don’t write reviews, these mostly don’t apply to you.

What we want

Honest, first-person experience of meals you actually ate. Specifics over generalities. Negative reviews are valuable; mean ones aren’t — critique the food and service, not the person.

What we don’t allow

Defamation, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content. Fake, paid, or rating-bombing reviews and undisclosed conflicts of interest. Personal information about staff or other diners. Spam, promotion, and off-topic content. Sexually explicit or graphic content.

Where reviews go & enforcement

Reviews may be shown to other Billy users and can be exported to platforms like Google Maps, where that platform’s terms also apply. We may remove or restrict violating content and, in severe cases, limit or terminate accounts. Restaurants can request takedowns; honest negative reviews are not removed just for being negative.
